"Decision Diner" – Veterans Health Administration
The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) wanted a video to educate staff physicians and other clinicians on the importance of making healthcare decisions in collaboration with their patients.
To achieve this objective, Reel Impact proposed a format that utilized a diner theme and incorporated humor. In this scenario, instead of coming in for food, the patrons – or patients - come in for healthcare services. The diner’s “waiters” and “cooks” were actually physicians portrayed by professional actors. The chief cook became the Chief of Staff and served as the narrator, summarizing key points as well as setting up and transitioning between scenes.
The creative treatment called for an elaborate set and prop design that included a working “industrial” kitchen. What made the production even more of a challenge was that it had to be shot on a very small sound stage with a low ceiling.
Find out how Reel Impact overcame these challenges, how the video went on to win international acclaim, and how it continues to be one of the client’s most memorable productions.
